At First Latch
I took Tana's, "At First Latch: Breastfeeding Essentials" class at Bellani Maternity to prepare for my second child. Though it comes easily to some, there are so many unforeseen roadblocks that can occur once the baby is earth-side &/or once one starts pumping. I regret not looking for a class on breastfeeding before my first child arrived. Unfortunately, lactation assistance at the hospital was dismal at the height of COVID. I left the hospital feeling totally defeated and unprepared. I sought help soon after returning home but didn't get great assistance. I wish Tana was around when I had my first baby! I highly recommend this class! It would be extremely beneficial for all local expectant mothers to take this class! As a bonus, she emailed the class participants an extremely helpful and beautifully formatted guide of all the topics she covered in class. Tana touched on everything you need to know from before the baby arrives, once the baby arrives & when pumping starts. It was a great class that helped calm my nerves ahead of the arrival of baby #2. Not only is she informative, but she kept the classes focused and she kept it real (so important)! She also discussed pumping in addition to breastfeeding, which wasn't touched upon when I met with a lactation consultant in 2020. I will be booking a prenatal consultation with Tana and postpartum visits as well!
