About Us

We are a group of professionals who have spent decades working in birth, postpartum, and child development. We come from hospitals, schools, and private practice to create one special place that has been helping families since 2006. Bellani is a special place where carefully curated retail meets education for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their adults. We sell car seats, strollers and quality toys.

Meet us:

Alexandria Souza - Ally has her bachelor's degree in early childhood. She has experience assessing and writing lesson plans for children six weeks old to six years old. She has worked with children meeting typical milestones and those with delayed developmental challenges. Her passion is working with the birth to three population, aiding them in being more independent with moving, playing, and expressing wants/needs by incorporating toys, music, and silly games for motivation. Educating families to help their child be successful in exercising at an early age is the foundation for a healthy lifestyle, promotes social skills, and boosts confidence. She is fun, creative, and loves to play, so come join her to wiggle in gym and make a mess in art classes.

Kelly LaChance Guertin, with over two decades of experience, is a guiding force for new and expecting families in Rhode Island. As the founder of Bellani Maternity, she has touched thousands of lives as a childbirth educator, lactation counselor, and doula.

Dedicated to fostering a warm environment, Kelly empowers families on their journey from pregnancy to parenthood. Her expertise in child development makes her a trusted resource for personalized care. Her legacy is one of compassion, knowledge, and unwavering support for the beautiful tapestry of new beginnings.

Sandy Clossick has led the dance program at Bellani for the past fourteen years. Our dance program values tradition, family, and the celebration of individuality. The emphasis on joy, love, and respect creates a positive and supportive environment for the students, which can greatly contribute to their growth and development as dancers and as individuals. By instilling confidence, kindness, and respect in our dancers, Sandy not only helps them improve their dance skills but also fosters important life skills that can benefit them in various aspects of their lives. Confidence allows students to believe in themselves and their abilities, which can lead to greater achievements both on and off the dance floor. Kindness helps build strong relationships and promotes a sense of community within the studio. Respect teaches students to value each other's differences and treat others with consideration and empathy. During dance class at Bellani the children are learning so much more than dancing.

Tana Murphy, a classroom educator turned lactation consultant with a passion for making breastfeeding as breezy as a day at the beach (minus the sand in your toes, of course). Armed with a Bachelor's degree in English & Education, a specialty in tethered oral tissues (TOTs certified), a focus in perinatal mental health (PMH-C trained), and the coveted title of International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I'm on a mission to sprinkle a healthy dose of levity into the world of boobs and nipples.

When I'm not busy snuggling babies or deciphering the mysteries of lactation, you’ll find me wrangling my own babies (who at 12, 9, and 5 years old, tell me they’re aren’t babies anymore) or falling asleep on the couch (watching the movie I asked to watch…) with my husband of 15 years.

My lactation superpower lies in creating a safe space where we can chat about all things breastfeeding and parenthood without judgment. Picture me as your lactation sidekick, ready to tackle challenges and celebrate all the victories with you. Come see me at my cozy office inside of Bellani Maternity or we can set up a time to meet virtually or in your home.

Grab your nursing pillow and let's embark on this lactation adventure together. We'll get over the speed bumps, share a few laughs, and create a story of success that's uniquely yours.
